1cupsemi-sweet chocolate chipsplus extra for topping
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt.
Add the mashed bananas, melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the same bowl. Stir gently with a spatula until the mixture is just combined. Avoid overmixing; a few lumps are perfectly fine.
Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly. Sprinkle a few extra chocolate chips on top.
Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
For the best flavor, use bananas that are heavily speckled with brown spots. To prevent chocolate chips from sinking to the bottom, toss them lightly with a tablespoon of flour before folding them into the batter. Let the bread cool completely before slicing to avoid crumbling.
