1lblarge shrimppeeled and deveined, tails on or off
2tbspolive oil
4clovesgarlicfinely minced
¼cupgrated Parmesan cheese
1tspItalian seasoning
½tspsaltor to taste
¼tspblack pepper
2tbspfresh parsleychopped, for garnish
1lemoncut into wedges, for serving
Instructions
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Pat the shrimp completely dry with paper towels. This is crucial for getting them crispy.
In a large bowl, combine the dry shrimp, olive oil, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Toss well until every shrimp is evenly coated.
Arrange the seasoned shrimp in a single layer in the preheated air fryer basket. Be careful not to overcrowd the basket; cook in two batches if necessary for the best results.
Air fry for 5-7 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the shrimp are pink, opaque, and slightly crispy. Cooking time may vary slightly depending on the size of your shrimp and your air fryer model.
Carefully remove the shrimp from the air fryer, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately with lemon wedges for squeezing over the top.
Notes
Chef's Tips:
Don't Overcrowd: Giving the shrimp space in the basket ensures they air fry to a crispy texture rather than steaming.
Variations: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the seasonings for a spicy kick.
Serving Suggestions: This shrimp is fantastic on its own, served over pasta, with zucchini noodles, in a salad, or as part of a shrimp taco.
Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat briefly in the air fryer to maintain crispness.
